Scoular Acquires Three Grain Facilities in Kansas From Skyland Grain
Scoular, which controls a Midwestern grain handling network including more than 50 facilities in Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, Colorado, and Nebraska, announced it has acquired three grain facilities located in Trousdale, Cullison, and Greensburg, Kansas, from Skyland Grain, enabling it to more than double its storage capacity in the central Kansas region.
The three newly added assets will complement Scoular’s existing shuttle-loading facility in nearby Pratt, Kansas, which the company has operated for more than a decade, and where the company has invested in major upgrades which were completed in 2022. Additionally, the new assets will boost Scoular’s ability to continue providing 100 percent of the feedstock needed by partner Pratt Energy for ethanol production.
Scoular explained that it will handle corn, wheat, soybeans, milo, and canola at the three newly acquired sites. The grain will be transported through Pratt on the Union Pacific mainline, providing more producers market access through its extensive supply chain network.
