River Valley Co-op Acquires Rumbold and Kuhn Grain Assets

Iowa-based River Valley Cooperative announced it has agreed to acquire the commercial grain assets belonging to Rumbold and Kuhn as well as the transportation assets of Ezra Rumbold & Sons, Inc.

In business for nearly 72 years, Rumbold and Kuhn manages seven commercial grain elevator facilities in Duncan, Princeville, Putnam, Speer, and Toulon, Illinois, as well as two Wyoming locations, employing 45 people and generating revenues of approximately $330 million.

River Valley is a full-service ag cooperative with annual sales exceeding $1.2 billion. Owned by more than 3,100 farming families across Eastern Iowa and Northwest Illinois, the cooperative has 35 locations offering products and services in agronomy, energy, and feed. The company explained that this partnership, following closely upon the expansion of its agronomy facility, will create financial stability and improve service to its customers in its Illinois trade area.
