Origin Agtech Announced Corn Hybrid Breakthrough with Wild Corn Gene

Origin Agtech announced a breakthrough in its commercial corn development, having successfully integrated a gene from wild corn into one of its elite commercial hybrids for the first time in the industry.

This achievement represents the first time using genetics from wild corn to enhance the performance of commercial hybrids - demonstrating a modification that has improved plant type and photosynthesis efficiency, enabling the hybrid to reach higher yields by supporting increased plant density per acre.

The improved version of the hybrid can now be planted at 10-15 percent higher density, offering a potential yield increase of more than 10 percent, and generates expectations for the new hybrid to replace the current version within two years.
