Origin Agritech Partners with China Agricultural University to Unlock Molecular Design of Corn

Origin Agritech has entered into a partnership agreement with China Agricultural University for collaborative research to unlock the molecular design of corn.

This work will employ CRISPR technology with the goal of rapidly developing new varieties of corn crops.

Origin initially established its corn CRISPR gene editing platform in 2017. Since that time the company has been diligently researching genetic advancements that would result in the improvement of the yield and nutritional composition of corn hybrids. Over the years Origin has built a robust biotechnology seed pipeline including products with glyphosate tolerance and pest resistance traits - and has had numerous successes in the discovery of sought-after corn genetic traits, including those that improve resistance to drought, modify stalk height, and improve nutritional qualities such as Zeaxanthin and Lysine content.
