On Building a Resilient Supply Chain… at ONG Forum

For the first time, the annual Organic & Non-GMO Forum went virtual this year. Welcoming hundreds of attendees to listen to dozens of expert speakers, the event covered topics such as ethical supply chain management, soil health, sustainability, market outlook, plant-based ingredients, traceability and much more.

In today’s snippet from the event, Ahmet Hepdogan, VP of procurement for Ferrara Candy Company, provided a thought-provoking, insightful discussion about the concept of a supply chain ecosystem. Hepdogan illustrated how supply chain decisions and interests impact each other in the context of risk management, as well as discussing “the biggest mistake companies make of only focusing on legacy issues”, adding that most companies look internally [for supply chain decisions] yet in reality P&L statements are affected at least 50 percent by suppliers. Hepdogan wrapped up the conversation with perspectives on what the ag industry can take away as learnings from COVID-19.

Registration is still open for the Forum, where recorded presentations can be viewed, and access to all attendees can be had, for up to a year. Learn more at ongforum.com.
