Largest Independent Flour Miller in U.S. Acquired by Redwood Capital
Baltimore, Maryland-based Grain Craft, the largest independent flour miller in the U.S., is to be acquired by private equity investor Redwood Capital Investments from G&L Holdings (a family holding company) for an undisclosed sum.
With a corporate office in Chattanooga, Tennessee, a satellite office in Overland Park, Kansas, and the Grain Craft Innovation & Quality Lab in Manhattan, Kansas, Grain Craft provides premium bulk and bagged flours through its 13 milling locations across the U.S.
Before Grain Craft was formed in 2014, the Grizzard and Labbe families, along with Grain Craft chairman Charlie Stout, launched leading flour milling businesses under the Milner Milling and Pendleton Flour Mills names. It was in 2014 that G&L Holdings created Grain Craft through the acquisition of Cereal Food Processors and the subsequent merging of Milner Milling and Pendleton Flour Mills. This acquisition of Grain Craft by Redwood Capital is expected to close in the third quarter of this year, subject to customary conditions and regulatory approval.
