GROWMARK Partners with Innerplant on InnerSoy Pilot

GROWMARK announced its partnership with InnerPlant to launch a commercial pilot of InnerSoy - a first-of-its-kind, genetically engineered soybean plant that emits optical signals when under stress from water shortage, nutrient deficiency, or fungal attacks. These signals are able to be detected using drones or satellites, allowing for prompt action to be taken to protect crops.

Set to begin in 2024, the pilot project will involve establishing small plots of InnerSoy in various strategic locations near soybean farms across the U.S. Midwest region to act as early detection centers for fungal infections.

The data collected from these plots will enhance InnerPlant’s machine learning platform and will further refine the agronomic intelligence to bolster crop performance and protection.
