Cibus, GDM Partner to Develop New Solutions for Soybean Farmers
Cibus, a leader in agricultural precision gene editing, and GDM, a leading global soybean research company, have announced a strategic partnership to develop and deliver new solutions for soybean farmers.
One-third of the world’s soybean production is derived from GDM genetics - which combines data science, biotechnology, and agricultural management for the continued genetic improvement of soybean crops.
Cibus is the creator of a proprietary gene editing technology called the Rapid Trait Development System (RTDS) - a new innovative platform that accelerates the process underlying natural breeding that increases crop yields and reduces waste for the agricultural system.
Global soybean acreage has grown to exceed 300 million acres, but stresses on global resources and environmental factors are creating demand for crop protection traits that can increase yields while not exacerbating these issues.
Together, Cibus and GDM will develop trait products designed to address the challenges faced by soybean seed companies and that will provide farmers with improved, cost-effective options for better soybean production.
