Cargill Launches Sustainable Ag Program for Aussie Canola Growers

Cargill has launched Cargill SustainConnect, a program to connect Australian canola growers with new and emerging markets for the benefit of local farmers and to better meet rising domestic and international demand for the grain.

The launch follows a successful pilot in 2023, and builds upon Cargill’s global efforts to streamline sustainable farming programs across its supply chains including its Cargill RegenConnect™ program in North America and Europe.

Cargill SustainConnect will provide enrolled canola growers a financial incentive of A$25 per hectare for positive environmental outcomes through the adoption of sustainable practices such as nutrient management interventions, or reduced or no-till methods, all while helping to improve the soil and decarbonize the supply chain.

Cargill has also partnered with Regrow to measure, report, and verify carbon outcomes using in-field data, remote sensing, and crop and soil health monitoring. This platform will also ensure easy enrollment and secure data collection while providing simplicity and transparency.
