Cargill Expands in Canada’s Crop Inputs Space with Full Acquisition of Precision Ag

America’s Cargill is expanding its influence in Canada’s crop input industry with the full acquisition of Precision Ag - a crop inputs retail business based in Griffin, Saskatchewan.

Founded in 1994, Precision Ag has operated as a 50/50 joint venture with Cargill for 22 years, offering crop nutrition, crop protection, feed, micronutrients, inoculants, short-line equipment, seeds, and other services to a farmer customer base representing approximately 600,000 acres.

Moving forward, Precision Ag will continue to operate under its same name, with no changes for its employees across its four locations in Griffin, Odessa, Carlyle, and Carnduff. Likewise, the company’s leadership team will remain in place for the next three years to ensure a smooth transition.

This deal will expand Cargill’s network of grain and ag services businesses throughout Canada, including an integrated mix of crop inputs, grain marketing, and consulting services, which Cargill stated it is ready to advance the business amid such dynamic market conditions.
