Bunge Acquires Louisiana Refinery; Expanding Value-Added Oils Business

Bunge has acquired a recently-built, multi-oil refinery in Louisiana from Fuji Oil New Orleans enabling it to expand its business and current client base.

The deal aligns with Bunge’s strategic plan to expand its footprint across North America and to grow its value-added oils business in the process. This acquisition, in particular, gives the company a scalable, complementary, port-based presence linking its North American food, feed, and fuel clients to international markets.

Once closed, Bunge intends to significantly expand capacity at the site, which will play into its ability to strengthen its regional partnerships with companies such as IMTT, which Bunge has cooperated with for 80-years for the storing and transportation of vegetable oils in the Gulf.
