Bayer, Perdue Partner on Regen Farming for Perdue’s Entire Grain Network
Bayer announced a groundbreaking regenerative farming partnership with Perdue AgriBusiness with the goal of large-scale reductions in carbon emissions and the creation of a model for a more sustainable food value chain for Perdue’s entire grain network.
This partnership, which is the first of its kind under Bayer’s new ForGround platform, will create opportunities to help support farmers as they incorporate more regenerative practices and rapidly scale up their ability to reduce Scope 3 emissions.
Through this ForGround collaboration farmers who supply corn or soybeans to Perdue may be compensated for tracking their carbon footprint, and can gain access to additional benefits including science-based agronomic support, equipment rebates, agronomic tools, service discounts, and a free subscription to Climate FieldView™ Plus.
Based on the scale of Perdue’s commodity sourcing network, this program has the potential to remove more than 1 million metric tons of CO2e a year out of the atmosphere. If achieved, this would counter-balance the greenhouse gas emissions from over 1 billion pounds of chicken, or the equivalent of about 200,000 vehicle emissions.
