BASF Expands High Oleic Canola Footprint with Acquisition of Cargill Facility
Strengthening its portfolio of market leading canola assets including seeds, traits, chemical and biological crop protection products, and digital farming tools, BASF has expanded its high oleic canola production and processing capacity in North America through the acquisition of Cargill’s canola seed production facility in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
The site will be used by BASF to increase production capacity and reinforce the reliability of its InVigor Health hybrids - canola seeds with a specialty oil profile that is more heat stable and higher in oleic acid content.
This asset will be rolled into BASF’s North American operations that include 16,700 employees and sales of $25.9 billion in 2021.
