Argentina Plans $500M Investment to Build New Grain Port in Rosario
The government of Argentina announced an investment of $500 million to build a new port in Timbues, Rosario - a key agricultural hub that handles more than 80 percent of the country’s agricultural and agro-industrial exports.
Argentina is one of the top two exporters of soybean oil and meal, and the world’s number three corn exporter. And as the 2023/24 soybean and corn harvests are set to begin with expectations of 49.5 million metric tons of soybeans and 57 million metric tons of corn, construction at the new port site is expected to begin this month.
