Alberta, Canada-Based W.A. Grain & Pulse Solutions Enters Receivership

W.A. Grain & Pulse Solutions, owner of grain handling and processing facilities in Bashaw and Bowden, Alberta, as well as Pambrun, Ponteix, and Vanguard, Saskatchewan, and a processing plant in Slemon Park, Prince Edward Island, entered receivership as of April 26, 2021.

As part of the payment security program, the Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) has suspended the company’s grain dealer license, along with the licenses for its five facilities in Western Canada, prohibiting the company from selling any grain held in storage, or from accepting producer deliveries, or contracting new grain sales until April 30. The CGC has gone on to re-issue a grain dealer license for W.A. Grain, effective May 1, that is provisional upon a list of conditions, and has asked that any farmers who are owed money by the company for grain delivered to contact the CGC immediately.
