ADM Acquires Saskatchewan’s Prairie Pulse
Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) stated that it was eager to strengthen its relationship with Canada’s pulse farmers and customers as it announced its acquisition of Prairie Pulse, a pulse crop cleaning, milling, and packaging operation in Vanscoy, Saskatchewan.
Prairie Pulse’s business includes origination, 12,000 metric tons of bulk storage, cleaning, milling, sorting, sizing, and bagging operations with a dehulling and splitting facility that processes lentils, chickpeas, and peas into shelf- and food-ready products for domestic and international consumption.
This acquisition will double ADM’s pulse footprint in the region, and will add to its pulse origination and cleaning operations in North Battleford; its canola crushing in Lloydminster; oilseed sourcing in Watson; and fertilizer sales and distribution in Lajord and Yorkton.
