Scoular Forges Strategic Partnership With Martin Farming

The Scoular Company announced a new strategic partnership with Martin Farming that will give Scoular the ability to buy directly from Ontario grain producers, and will allow Martin Farming to store and handle grain at Scoular’s new elevator with total storage capacity of 865,000 bushels, or 22,000 tons.

The partnership gives Ontario’s southwestern grain growers a new market, and expands Nebraska-based Scoular’s presence in the Canadian market. Currently, Scoular, which markets Canadian pulses, flax, sunflowers, wheat, canola, barley, corn, and soybeans has three plants in Manitoba, four in Saskatchewan, and one office in each Saskatchewan and Alberta.

Martin Farming, which is owned by Kris Martin, has farmed in the region for more than 30 years and leases and sharecrops multiple farms, while also operating Grain Care - a commercial grain freight division.
