Israel’s Equinom is Bringing its Non-GMO Seed Breeding Technology to the U.S.

Following the successful closing of a $10 million Series B, Israeli startup Equinom is bringing its non-GMO seed breeding technology to the North American market.

Equinom breeds non-GMO seed stock that grows crops with higher protein and oil content, and improved organoleptic properties, resulting in better-for-you and tastier plant protein ingredients.

To lead this U.S. expansion, the company has named Rock Mignella (formerly with Cargill and Ingredion) as EVP and managing director of the U.S. team. His focus will be on scaling up the business and expanding Equinom’s presence in the market.

Mignella said that Equinom’s technology can play a role in revolutionizing the food industry. The company’s mission is to change the way food systems work by connecting the farming industry with food companies by building a next-generation mutual ecosystem for food production.
