ISA Announces John Lumpe as Newly Appointed CEO
The Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) announced the appointment by its Board of Directors of John Lumpe as its new CEO effective February 4. The ISA membership programs represent more than 43,000 soybean farmers statewide, and advocates for their interests in both Springfield, Illinois, and Washington DC. In his role, Lumpe will be responsible for leading the state’s soybean checkoff program, for continuing the organization’s commitment to securing the maximum profitability and global competitiveness for Illinois’ soybean growers, and for leading non-checkoff programs and activities that benefit the state’s farmers.
A native of Ohio, and a graduate of Walsh College in Troy, Michigan, Lumpe brings more than 30 years of experience in association management, public relations, strategic thinking, communications, and market development. Most recently, Lumpe was senior vice president of FLM Harvest where he provided strategic leadership with a focus on checkoff and association clients and trade associations. Prior to FLM Harvest, he was executive director of the Ohio Soybean Association, Ohio Soybean Council, and the Ohio Soybean Council Federation.
