G3 to Construct Two New Elevators in Alberta

Winnipeg-based grain trader G3 announced its plans to build two new high-efficiency grain elevators near Irricana, and in Stettler County, Alberta, stating that Alberta is one of the most important grain growing regions in the country. Construction on both locations is planned to begin this summer, pending the ability to secure final regulatory approvals.

Both elevators will have capacity of 42,000 tons, will include a railway loop track to accommodate a 150-car unit train, and will be able to unload a Super B truck in under five minutes. The G3 Stettler County elevator will be on the CP Rail line, and the elevator near Irricana will be on the CN Rail.

G3 is on an expansion boom, with four other high-efficiency elevators currently under construction in Morinville, Wetaskiwin, and Carmangay, in Alberta, and in Maidstone in Saskatchewan - in addition to a new port terminal under construction in North Vancouver, British Columbia.
