Bay State Milling Opens California Specialty Grain Facility

Massachusetts-based Bay State Milling has completed construction on its new specialty grain facility located in Woodland, California.

The announcement reflects the company’s goal of building out a national network for specialty grain milling and blending to serve its growing customer base, which is demanding novel and innovative plant-based ingredients.

The Woodland site includes dedicated areas for storing gluten-free and organic products, and an expanded space for milling and blending specialty and ancient grains, as well as the processing of gluten-free purity protocol oats.

At the same time, the company announced that its millet sourcing and processing facility in Sterling, Colorado, which processes conventional and organic hulled white proso, whole white proso, and whole red proso millet, has secured Safe Quality Food certification, making the entire site Global Food Safety Initiative certified.
