Richardson International Acquires Alberta-Based Crop Input Business

Richardson International has acquired crop inputs company Agland Seed and Chemical Ltd., located in La Crete, in Alberta, Canada.

With more than 2,600 employees across Canada, the U.S,. and the UK, Richardson is a global handler and merchandiser of all the major Canadian-grown grains and oilseeds, as well as being a vertically integrated process and manufacture of oats and canola-based products. However, the La Crete region has been identified by the company as a gap within their business network. And through this deal, Richardson looks forward to building business relationships with producers in the local communities. Upon completion of the deal, all Agland Seed employees will join the Richardson Pioneer team - a division of Richardson International. Under Richardson Pioneer’s umbrella, Agland will be able to expand its offerings, and through the deal, Richardson’s will be able to provide a greater number of customers with year-round support with its CropWatch agronomy service and its CropMatrix platform.
