New Soybean Processing Plant Being Built in Ohio

Coshocton Grain is expanding its operations, building a new soybean processing plant in Coshocton, Ohio. Behind the decision to build is the company’s strategy to expand beyond corn to emphasize soybeans.

Construction of the facility is expected to be completed by the end of March, and the plant is scheduled to be on-line by July. The site will have the capacity to process 3.36 million bushels of soybeans per year, producing 81,000 tons of soybean meal and 12,600 tons of soybean oil, which will be sold through the division of the company known as Coshocton Soy Processing ExPress Meal & Oil.

The site will include overhead load out bins for the meal, and the oil will be loaded onto trucks for transport to a biofuels refinery in Erie, Pennsylvania. The meal produced on-site will be used by dairy, swine, and poultry farms within a 75-mile radius.
