Viterra Takes Full Ownership of Pacific Coast Canola
Canadian grain industry leader Viterra announced that it has acquired full ownership of Pacific Coast Canola located in Warden, in Washington State. Viterra said that it intends to fully integrate the oilseed processing facility into its asset network, and over the coming months will be implementing the Viterra brand into its operations.
Viterra has focused on improving logistics at the site, and has been working with commercial grain handlers for the support of long-term grain storage programs for farmers, while also offering customers flexible contracting.
Initially opened in 2013, the facility is the largest expeller-press canola processing facility in North America. The facility produces a range of canola oils for supply to food manufacturers and distributors, and meal products that are sold to the pork, poultry, dairy, and cattle industries.
