Perdue to Build $30M Organic Grain Receiving and Storage Facility in Maryland
Perdue AgriBusiness announced its intentions to invest $30 million to build an organic grain receiving and storage facility in Baltimore County, Maryland, to meet rising demand for organic feed ingredients.
Perdue Farms produces USDA-certified organic chicken, and Perdue AgriBusiness sources and processes a diverse portfolio of grains, soybean meal, feed ingredients, and edible oils.
Sourcing grain and soybeans directly from local farmers and through relationships with traders in the U.S., Europe, South America, and Asia, this new facility will be part of an integrated supply chain that will enable Perdue to supply more organic chicken at reduced costs.
Perdue has been headquartered in Maryland for nearly 100 years, and this new organic grain facility, which will be located in the Tradepoint Atlantic Industrial Park, gives the company a logistical advantage through proximity to a number of major interstates, rail lines, and the Port of Baltimore.
