Scoular, Rogers Grain Announce Joint Venture for Specialty Corn and Soybeans
The Scoular Company has invested in Ohio-based Rogers Grain as the basis for a joint venture for the cooperation in growing a business focused on specialty corn and soybeans.
The joint venture brings together two companies with a long history in the grain sector. Scoular is a 125-year old, employee-owned company with more than 100 strategic offices, elevators, and processing facilities across North and South America as well as Asia. Through its activities in buying, selling, storing, handling, and processing grains and ingredients, the company sees more than $43 billion in sales. Rogers is a third-generation family-owned grain business in Miami County, founded by Ken and David Rogers in the 1950s. For decades the company has been active in farming, agronomy, and grain handling for both domestic and international end-users of food and feed grade commodities.
The partnership will leverage each company’s strengths, and aims to provide farmers in Ohio with greater access to specialty grain markets. Moving forward, Brent Rogers will remain in place as president of Rogers Grain, while Greg Lickteig will continue to oversee Scoular’s specialty grain operations.
