Mar-Jac Poultry Investing $58M to Build New Feed Mill, Hatchery

Mar-Jac Poultry, the 16th largest broiler company in the U.S., announced it is investing $58 million to fund the construction of a new feed mill and hatchery in Alabama.

Of the total investment, $35 million will be allocated toward the construction of a 55,000-square-foot feed mill, which will supply feed to poultry operations in northwest Alabama. Through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), the state is providing $300,000 toward the project for improvements and the installation of safety signals at railroad crossings at main roads leading to the plant.

The remaining $23 million will be earmarked for the construction of a new hatchery in the same area. The new facilities will be in addition to Mar-Jac’s existing three hatcheries and three feed mills.
