ADM Building New Flour Mill in Illinois
Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) has announced its plans to build a new high-capacity flour mill in Mendota, Illinois to help the company better meet growing demand in the U.S. Midwest.
New technologies and equipment integrated into the modern facility such as the ability to unload 100-car shuttle trains, will also help the company realize greater efficiencies between it and ADM’s existing grain facility in Mendota.
This new facility will add milling capacity of 30,000 cwts to ADM Milling’s total U.S. wheat flour capacity of 286,900 cwts across its 23 existing mills across the country.
The announcement of the new mill project is the latest in a long string of expansion projects for ADM including the completion of its expansion at Brazil’s Port Santos, the acquisition of a majority stake in Israeli agricultural feed importer, Industries Centers, and a deal in progress to acquire French producer of wheat starches and sweeteners, Chamtor.
