G3 Plans to Expand National Network with Two New Elevators

G3 Canada Ltd. announced plans to build two new grain elevators in Saskatchewan as the company continues to pursue its plans for a national grain handling network.

Construction of both sites is scheduled to begin in April 2017 and is expected to be completed in time for the harvest of 2018.

Both sites will be constructed on the CN Rail, will have 134-car loop tracks, will have high capacity drags under the driveshed for rapid unloading, and will claim 34,000 tons and 42,000 tons of storage capacity respectively.

Both sites also will be strategically located to provide rail access to the group’s Thunder Bay and St. Lawrence River terminals, and eventually to the G3 Terminal Vancouver upon its opening in 2020.

These two elevators will bring the total number of elevators opened by G3 across Canada to six since August 2015.
