Cooperative Farmers Elevator to Build New Feed Mill
As a direct result of the growing livestock industry in the state and an increased need for feed, Iowa-based Cooperative Farmers Elevator announced it will begin construction on a new feed mill next spring.
The facility will be a 160-foot concrete slipped mill with the capacity to produce 3,000 tons of complete feed per day, or 780,000 tons per year. It will process 70,000 bushels of corn per day and will provide a ractopamine-free production process for livestock producers that require it for export purposes.
CFE is a farmer-owned business serving farmers across southwest Minnesota, and southeast South Dakota in the areas of agronomy, feed, grain, energy and lumber.
The new site is scheduled to be online toward the end of summer 2018 barring any construction delays and will add 28 jobs.
