ADM to Expand Capacity at Turkish, Bulgarian Corn Facilities
Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) announced plans to expand the grind and finishing capacity for sweeteners and starches at its corn wet mills in Turkey and Bulgaria to better meet increased demand from the European and Middle Eastern markets.
The mills were acquired by ADM along with a 50 percent stake in an additional wet corn mill in Hungary in November 2015, since which time the company has worked to integrate the facilities, which produce a range of starch products, liquid sweeteners, native and modified starches, crystalline fructose and dextrose, into its global operations. ADM later acquired another corn wet mill in Morocco in June 2016.
“One of our key strategic goals is to grow shareholder value through the expansion and diversification of our global corn footprint,” said Pierre Duprat, President, ADM Europe, Middle East and Africa. In addition to enhancing production capacity, the improvements we have made in Turkey and Bulgaria will also improve operational efficiency at these facilities, increase our domestic and overseas sales competitiveness.”
