Ag Processing Inc. to Construct Soybean Processing Plant in South Dakota

Ag Processing Inc. (AGP) has received approval to construct a new soybean processing plant in Aberdeen, South Dakota. This will be the group’s tenth processing plant, but its first in the state.

AGP chose Aberdeen for this project due to its abundant supply of soybeans, the availability of a large local workforce, beneficial infrastructure, and good transportation access.

AGP is a co-operative owned group with 45 grain facilities including licensed grain storage capacity for 102 million bushels. Its business includes soybean processing and refining, the production and marketing of soybean meal, refined soybean oil, and biodiesel, and the trading of agricultural products in both domestic and overseas markets.

Plans for the project were announced in November of last year. Construction is slated to begin in the spring of 2017 and the facility is scheduled to be fully operational in 2019.
