Express Grain Terminals Adding Soybean Processing Plant in Mississippi

Express Grain Terminals is investing $2 million to expand its processing operations with the addition of a soybean processing plant in Greenwood, Mississippi.

The new facility will process locally sourced soybeans into soymeal and hulls to supply the local animal feed industry. The plant will also produce soybean oil to be sold to refineries for the production of both edible oil and biodiesel.

The Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) assisted Express Grain in securing tax exemptions and an access road built leading to the plant. The project was also granted additional incentives in relation to the Growth and Prosperity Act.

Earlier this year the company made the decision to invest $13 million in Mississippi, creating 55 jobs.
