Harvest Progress: Nearly 90 Percent of U.S. Soybeans Harvested
Nearly 90 percent of the U.S. soybean crop has been harvested and almost half the national corn crop has been harvested, according to the latest crop progress report issued by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
As of October 23, 47 percent of the U.S. corn crop have been harvested compared to 54 percent at this point last year and a five year average of 57 percent. Eleven percent of U.S. corn is rated at being in excellent condition, 45 percent good condition, 29 percent fair condition, and 11 percent poor condition.
Eighty nine percent of U.S. soybeans have been harvested compared to 94 percent at this point last year and a five-year average of 93 percent.
The U.S. sorghum harvest is 80 percent complete, significantly ahead of last year’s harvest which, stood at 56 percent complete at this point in the season, and still ahead of the national five year average of 67 percent.
Sunflowers are 56 percent harvested compared to 51 percent harvested at this point last season, with 57 percent of sunflowers rated as being in good condition and four percent rated as being in excellent condition.
