Bunge, AGD Jointly Invest $100M in Argentina Port

Bunge is joining with Aceitera General Deheza SA (AGD) to invest $100 million in the T6 port complex of the Argentinian inland river port of Puerto General San Martin.

The terminal, which is jointly owned and managed by Bunge and AGD, and loads outgoing ships with vegetable oils and dry bulk currently has the ability to unload 600 railway card and more than 1,200 trucks per day. Last year the facility saw throughput of 13 million tons of cargo for export.

The investment will occur over the next three years and will include upgrades designed to lift the site’s operational capacity.

Founded in 1948, AGD is a privately owned, Argentinian oilseed crusher, with the capacity to crush 20,000 tons of oilseeds per day and has storage for 3.3 million tons.
