Following Conditional GMO Clearance, Brazil’s BRF Considers Importing U.S. Corn

As corn supplies in Brazil continue to tighten, Brazilian biosafety regulatory body CTNBio has approved the importation of certain varieties of U.S.-grown GMO corn for use by Brazil’s pork and poultry growers in animal feed.

With this clearance in hand, BRF, the world’s largest poultry exporter is considering importing U.S. corn into Brazil, and is currently exploring procedures related to the importation process.
