DuPont and CHS Offering Plenish High Oleic Soybean Contracts in MN, IA

CHS Processing and Food Ingredients will be offering 2017 production contracts for Pioneer brand Plenish high oleic soybeans in southern Minnesota and Northern Iowa.

The contracted soybeans, which will be processed at CHS’ facility in Fairmont, Minnesota, will expand the acreage of Plenish soybeans, increasing access to the product for farmers.

Farmers who contract with CHS for the production of the high oleic variety will be eligible for a grain premium, details of which can be obtained from CHS Minnesota soybean merchandisers and Pioneer sales staff in the region.

The Plenish variety of soybean was developed using Pioneer’s latest Accelerated Yield Technology (AYT) 4.0. Oil produced from the soybeans has zero grams of transfats and 20 percent less saturated fat than commodity soybean oil. Combined with its high oxidative stability, longer fry life in restaurant applications and lower polymerized oil buildup on restaurant equipment, it makes for an attractive option for foodservice operations.
