ADM and Canada National Railway Collaborate on Logistics
Container shipments are increasing over Archer Daniels Midland’s (ADM) privately owned Decatur, Illinois-based intermodal ramp due to collaborative efforts on the part of ADM and the Canadian National Railway (CN).
CN is moving import containers from the Port of Montreal and the Port of Prince Rupert in British Columbia to ADM’s Decatur facility three times per week for distribution across the U.S. Midwest. ADM then re-loads the containers with grain and other processed cargo to be transported by CN to Canadian ports for shipment to global markets.
The efforts have increased the flow of commodities and goods and have helped boost ADM’s service of its export markets, particularly in Asia.
