Cargill Strengthens Feed Formulation Abilities, Acquires Format International
Cargill Inc. has announced it has acquired leading global feed formulation software company, Format International Ltd., for an undisclosed amount.
Format International, which will become part of Cargill Feed Management Systems (FMS), an independent software company that operates under the Cargill Animal Nutrition business, specializes in the formulation and design, ingredient allocation, recipe optimization, and food and feed formulation solutions across multiple sectors, including animal feed, aqua feed, pet food, human food, and premix among others.
"This acquisition combines Format International's software capabilities and state-of-the-art platform with Cargill's expertise in animal nutrition and nutrient analysis," said Bruce Feist, managing director, Cargill Feed Management Systems in a company statement. "Together, we will be able to offer our customers a complete and fully integrated nutrition solution that will deliver the right information to the right person – anytime, anywhere."
Founded in 1980 and headquartered in Woking, UK, Format International has more than three decades of experience and more than 5,000 customer-users in 93 countries.
