Miller Milling Announces New Senior Leadership Appointments

Kazuyoshi Watanabe, president of Miller Milling, announced the appointment of three new executive positions at the company.

Jeff Thomas has been named vice president of operations. Mr. Thomas come to the company through Miller’s acquisition of its flour mill in Saginaw, Texas in 2014 where Mr. Thomas was manager. Prior to that position, he was in milling operations with ConAgra Foods for 20 years.

Mr. David Hegewald has been named Miller Milling’s vice president of administration. Mr. Hegewald was previously Miller’s director of risk management, and prior to that he was with Deloitte & Touche LLP in Minneapolis for 22 years.

Mr. Brian Harrington has been appointed as Miller’s vice president of sales and procurement after serving as director of national accounts. Prior to joining Miller, Mr. Harrington was with Cargill Inc. for 17 years.

Mr. Thomas, Mr. Hegewald, and Mr. Harrington are replacing three long-standing Miller Milling executives that are leaving the company – Randy Martin, vice president of sales and commodities who has been with Miller for 19 years, Andrew Bauer, vice president and chief financial officer, who has been with Miller for 20 years, and Kevin Ball, vice president of operations, who has been with Miller since its founding by John Miller in 1985.

Miller Milling was acquired by Nisshin Seifun Group in 2012 and expanded its operations in 2014 with the acquisition of flour mills in Los Angeles, and Oakland, California, Saginaw, Texas, and New Prague, Minnesota. The company also operates flour mills in Fresno, California and Winchester, Virginia.
