Ukraine to Export Higher Volumes of Oilseed Meal this Year
Ukraine is expected to export higher volumes of oilseed meal this year upon the development of the country’s fat and oil industry, according to the Ukrainian company, Allseeds.
Exports of Ukrainian soybean meal for 2014/15 exceeded 170,000 tons for the first time, and overall output from the country’s fat and oil industries is expected to be 900,000 tons for this year – indicating that the volume of soybean meal exports for this year could reach 190,000 tons.
"The main sales markets are the European Union, Asia and the Middle East. However, exports of processed products coming from the Ukrainian oil and fat industry are not limited to those regions", said a representative of Allseeds.
The increase in Ukrainian exports this year may also be attributed not only to increased production and market expansion, but also to a lower domestic demand as a result of a reduction in the number of cattle in the country, according to the company.
