Animal Nutrition Company, Ridley, to Build New $20 Million Feed Mill
The Australian animal feed company, Ridley, has announced it is building a new $20 million feed mill at Geelong in Victoria to supply the poultry and swine industries.
The facility will be constructed on 5.3 hectares of land that the company acquired in August 2014, and will include 21,000 tons of grain silo storage capacity. The plant will have an initial production capacity of 250,000 tons per year, however the plant design will be based on a modular concept that will allow for future expansion.
The company has stated that the facility will supply feed to poultry and swine customers across western Victoria as the region is the main region of growth for broiler production farms in the state.
Federal government funding support of almost $800,000 has been provided for the project under the Geelong Regional Innovation and Investment Fund (GRIF), and Ridley has stated that since the purchase of the project site, the company has been working to secure freight arrangements and sales volumes contracts.
