Ardent Mills to Acquire Flour Mill from Mondeléz Canada

Flour milling and ingredient company, Ardent Mills, has announced it has agreed to acquire the Mondeléz Canada flour mill in Mississauga, Ontario for an undisclosed amount.

The acquired mill produces hard and soft wheat for Canadian bakeries and food manufacturers, and will add to Ardent’s ability to better serve its Canadian food manufacturer customers. Ardent owns existing milling operations in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and Montreal, Quebec, a baking facility in Burlington, and a sales and administrative office in Brampton, Ontario.

Headquartered in Denver, Colorado, Ardent operates more than 40 flour mills and bakery-mix production facilities including a specialty bakery and Mobile Innovation Center across the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.

"Acquiring this mill is consistent with our strategies for growth and our desire to help our customers win," said Dan Dye, Ardent Mills Chief Executive Officer. “We are excited about this mill's future and we're confident we can leverage our innovation and supply chain capabilities, after the transaction closes."
