West Central Cooperative Announces $27 Million Expansion of Ralston, Iowa Soy Facility

West Central Cooperative, the manufacturer of the high bypass dairy animal feed ingredient, SoyPlus, has announced that it is investing $27 million to expand and upgrade its soy processing plant in Ralston, Iowa.

The project, which is expected to give the group more firm control over the supply chain, will increase production capacity at the facility by 50%, and will increase soybean storage at the facility by nearly 3 million bushels. Under the project’s planned progression, additional production will come online in phases, eventually including an additional line of mechanical presses, soybean oil treatment and load-out access.

Work on the expansion is scheduled to begin this summer, and is expected to be completed in the fall of 2016.
