ADM Corn Appointments to Further Growth Strategy

As part of a move to accelerate growth and improve returns, on March 27 Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) announced five new appointments in its corn business unit after new chief executive officer, Juan Luciano created new management teams in Asia and North America earlier in the month.

Vice president of Ethanol since 2011, Craig Wilson, who has been with ADM for 23 years, has been promoted to president, Ethanol. Prior to joining the Ethanol group, Wilson was commercial manager of three large ADM oilseed crushing plants, and manager of origination and transportation assets in the Agricultural Services unit.

Kris Lutt has been named president of Sweeteners and Starches. Previously, Lutt was president of ADM subsidiary Golden Peanut and Tree Nuts where he oversaw the acquisition of U.S.-based Harrell Nut Co. and the Golden Peanut expansion into South Africa. Lutt has also served as vice president of Corn Processing.

Succeeding Randy Kampfe following his retirement, Luther Pohlmann has been appointed vice president of Corn Operations. Pohlmann previously managed some of the group’s largest corn processing plants and has been involved in the unit’s expansion into new geographical regions.

Andy Moore has been named vice president of Sweeteners and Starches after being director of sales for the business. Moore was key in developing ADM’s go-to-market strategy and strengthening the group’s customer-management relationships. He will continue in his role as director of sales.

Gary Towne will continue to serve as president of Risk Management for ADM’s corn business.
