Cargill Inc. and Trupointe Form TruHorizons in Indiana

Cargill Inc. and Piqua, Ohio-based Trupointe Inc. have merged Cargill’s grain and Trupointe’s agronomy operations under the name TruHorizons at Milford, Bremen, and La Paz, Indiana sites. The combined venture aims to provide Indiana grain growers the resources needed from seed to harvest for more profitable production.

The TruHorizons agronomy hub at Milford, which has been open since the spring of 2014 operating under the name Trupointe, offers crop nutrients, crop protection, seeds, traits, scouting services, precision ag, and application services, while TruHorizons grain elevators, formerly under the Cargill name, are located at the Bremen and La Paz sites. TruHorizons is also constructing a $30 million grain elevator at Milford which will include eight silos, two steel bins, and an attached ground pile with total combined storage capacity of 4.3 million bushels of grain.

The new venture will be governed by a six person board of directors consisting of three representatives from each company, and a general manager responsible for overseeing all operations and employees.
